The new owner will price this the way the category is normally priced. We are not going to pretend otherwise. What is here is what we ordered and priced before the handover.

We are not restocking anything. Each size was ordered once. The counter on each product page reads the real inventory, not a decoration.

One year on construction and sole stitching, honoured after the handover. Closing a chapter is not walking away from the shoes.

Why we sold
We would rather hand it over intact than run it into the ground trying to compete on price.
We started Alderton because a properly made shoe had drifted out of reach. A Goodyear welted pair — stitched sole, cork bed, wooden last — had settled at about three times this price in European shop windows, and most of that number had nothing to do with the shoe.
So we made them in Spain and sold them directly. Same bench, same welt, a third of the price. This year we were approached about selling the brand, and we accepted.
